Recently, I had the experience of sitting with someone quite young in the faith, and seeing surprise and confusion take over as the individual witnessed an older, more mature Christian behave in an unbecoming way. I was a little taken aback too, but I have been a Christian long enough to know that we don't always behave as we ought. Sadly, we behave exactly as we should not in far too many occasions. Especially when we are working with other people, it seems that our bad sides can peep up quite easily.
This was a good reminder for me; to realize that there may be younger believers around me at any given time. And I don't just mean children. And there may be weaker brothers around me. It's sometimes hard to keep our mouths from overflowing. I, myself, am especially prone to that. It is my prayer that I will remember this incident, and that I will strive daily to conduct myself in a way that would not trip up a younger believer.
