My bad....

David has reminded me that on this date in 1975 The Edmund Fitzgerald met with its doom. I don't know why, but I thought it was November 8, 1975... I'm hanging my head in shame. I guess the sunshine of today is a departure from when the November skies turn gloomy.

This song was something we studied when I was in 6th grade. My music teacher was a huge Gordon Lightfoot fan, and his song provided the impetus for us to study the actual events. About two years ago, my husband and I watched a really good documentary on the subject.

The clip that David left me is a very good live version. I have seen Lightfoot in concert a few times, and I always loved it when he sang this.

However, the shame is not to be borne that and American gentleman had to remind me about this date... I, Canadian and Lightfoot fan that I am.

Enjoy.
