I know it's Monday, but I'm getting this up while I'm thinking of it. Rebecca is hosting a month of Petitionary Prayer, posting every Tuesday and Friday.
Today, I'm praying for the students in my midst. I know quite a few who are feeling the crunch in many ways. For the college and university students, it is final exam time, and I know a few who are dealing with the stress of that situation, and one of my student friends is feeling physically under the weather, and that makes the end of the year stress even worse. My daughter has two exams tomorrow, and is facing a very daunting Linear Algebra exam on the 23rd. It can be quite a task juggling the study schedule. Students need to study, but they need to pace themselves as well to maximize the study time. Physical activity is always good during exam time, as it discharges a lot of pent up energy. I'm praying that these students take a break now and then as well as finding the time to study. And above all, I'm praying that they will bring their burdens before the Lord.
I'm also praying for the 12th grade students in my circle of friends, as they contemplate the future and the process of graduating and moving into a new sphere. For a few, it is quite daunting, and for a few, they are restless and eager to get on with things. For the restless ones, I'm praying in particular that they maintain their focus while they finish their high school education. For the daunted, I'm praying for confidence, and that they will trust the Lord's leading in their lives.
And I'm also praying for a student in my house. My 13 year old and I have an appointment at the local high school this Wednesday to regsiter him for the fall. That may be a hard day for me...
