Christmas Goodies

Rebecca is doing a Christmas recipe round-up today, and here is my contribution.

This is a fantastic, easy recipe, and it's one that my family loves. I have had many other people tell me they like it too.

Butterhorns

Filling:

3/4 c white sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
3/4 c walnuts or almonds (optional)

Set aside filling.

Blend, using a pasty blender:

2 c flour
1 c margarine

Add:

1 egg yolk
3/4 c sour cream

Mix well. Shape into three balls and chill for at least an hour.

With each ball, roll on a floured surface into a circle approx 8-9 inches across. Divide the filling into three portions, one for each ball. Sprinkle the filling over the circle and then, using a knife, cut the dough (like a pizza) across the circle enough times so that you end up with sixteen triangle shaped pieces. Roll each piece, beginning with the wide edge and ending with the point of the triangle. Place each piece on a cookie sheet and bake for twenty minutes at 375 degrees.

These freeze very well.
