I'm interested in hearing from those of you who love to study your bibles.
Over the years, what is the greatest lesson you've learned about bible study? I don't mean lessons from specific portions of scripture, but about the very act of the study itself.
The lesson I've learned the most is not to be afraid of using commentaries. There was a time when I was really snobby about using a commentary. I wouldn't be caught dead using a commentary; I had to figure it out for myself. I have learned that there isn't any harm in looking at a good commentary.
So, what about you? I'd love to hear from a lot of you bible students out there....and I know you're out there!

The responses so far are just excellent! Keep 'em coming!
