Yet another probing theological question

I have yet another question that I'm throwing out there for anyone who can provide some input.

My friend has left our church. Basically, they felt that the church was too legalistic and judgmental, and that people weren't loving enough. There were also some doctrinal issues, but I believe they were secondary.

They have begun going to another church whose preaching and doctrinal position I believe to be less satisfactory to my friend than the one she left. She has gone so far as to admit that yes, she's concerned about what's being said from the pulpit. What she does like is how loving and caring the people there are. Another couple from my church also left to attend this church well over eighteen months ago, and feel the same as my friend: the doctrine may be a little shaky, but everyone is so caring. In fact, my friend has gone so far as to make this comment, about which I'd like someone to share his or her opinion. My friend's comment is: "Love covers a multitude of sins, including bad theology."

So, tell me, does love cover a multitude of bad theology? I see red flags with this. Am I nuts or what?

Rebecca, you did so well with the last question.....any ingishts?
