I'd like to spend some time studying the Psalms in more detail. I'm looking for a good commentary on the Psalms, one that would take into consideration their nature of being Hebrew poetry.
Can anyone recommend a good one?
I've been reading the book Families Where Grace is in Place. What an awesome, awesome book. Thanks to TulipGirl for mentioning it.
Last night, my husband, daughter and I had a long talk to respond to her request to go to public school next year. It was a wonderful talk. It was about two hours long, and it was free from anger and accusation. We listened to her, and she listened to us. Once again, I was struck at how sensitive she is, and she impressed us both with her ability to articulate her concerns. While nothing has been decided, we are just so encouraged that this conversation proved to be very constructive. Thank you to those whom I know have been praying for me.
This was our text for this morning at church:
Unless the Lord builds the house,
They labor in van who build it;
Unless the Lord guards the city,
The watchmen keeps awake in vain.
It is vain for you to rise up early,
To retire late,
To eat the bread of painful labors;
For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep.
Psalm 127:1-2 NASB
I hope, with the grace of God, to continue to do just this.
Have a blessed Sunday.
